ARCTIC EDGE
Arctic Edge er et nyskapende prosjekt med et spektakulært hotell som midtpunkt. Arctic Edge er plassert på det Nasjonale Utkikspunktet i Nordland med 360° Panorama utsikt utover verdens vakreste kystlinje og de Nordlandske fjell med Lofotveggen midt imot. Planlagt ferdigstilt 2011 – 12.
Arctic Edge is a new and innovative project revolving around a spectacular hotel. It is situated at the National Viewpoint in Nordland and has a 360° panoramic view of the world’s most beautiful coastline and the Nordland mountains with the Lofoten Wall straight ahead. Arctic Edge har følgende innhold:
1. Hotell
Et spektakulært og høyreist ikon-bygg med fantastisk utsikt fra hvert eneste rom. Stor kurs- og konferansekapasitet med saler tilrettelagt for både små og store grupper opp til 4-500 personer. Restaurant og kafé tilknyttet Nasjonalt Utkikspunkt. Utvendig glassheis som fører opp til sky-baren i øverste etasje. Hotellet vil kunne tilby sine gjester alt fra ulike former for fysisk aktivitet, rehabilitering, behandling og rekreasjon – fra innendørs fotball og golf – til friluftsliv ved Svartvatnet Villmarkspark med ørretfiske i Midnattssol. Fra langrenn og skilek til terrengsykling og fjellturer.
2. Arctic Edge Helse- og Aktivitetssenter
Tilknyttet hotellet vil senteret tilby både hotellgjester og andre kunder og brukere et bredt tilbud innenfor helse og aktivitet.

- Topp moderne treningstudio
- Cageball: verdens morsomste form for innendørs fotball
- Indoor Golf: ti driving range matter med utslag mot nett med Lofotveggen som bakgrunn
- Indoor Mini Tennis: en morsom og litt enklere form for tennis som spilles med softball
3. Arctic Edge Nasjonalt Utkikspunkt
Platået som Arctic Edge ligger på er det Nasjonale Utkikspunktet i Nordland for Midnattssolen og den nordlandske kystlinje, kjent som Verdens Vakreste Kyst. Sammen med Nordkapp er Arctic Edge platået fra gammelt av Norges mest benyttede utkikspunkt for Midnattssolen.
4. Arctic Edge Amfi
Utendørs amfiscene for konserter, teateroppsetninger, etc
5. Arctic Edge Aktivitetspark
Allerede i dag er Rønvikfjellet et fantastisk og lett tilgjengelig tur og friluftsområde. Når arbeidet med Arctic Edge Aktivitetspark er ferdig vil området framstå som Norges beste og enklest tilgjengelige område for bynære opplevelser innen tur og friluftsliv.
Aktivitetsparken vil bestå av følgende:
Turløyper
Hovedløypen vil gå fra Bodø’s idylliske ytre kyststripe, via platået hvor Arctic Edge ligger og binder sammen de ulike aktivitetsområdene på Rønvikfjellet, før den svinger østover og kobler seg sammen med lysløypenettet i Bodømarka.
Et uttall stimuligheter som bla fører opp til Keiservarden og videre til en fjellverden med formidabel utsikt og fiskerike fjellvann.
Ørneplassen Aktivitespark
På vinteren et ski - lek anlegg for hele familien med akebakker, kuleløyper, hopp og oppkjørte skispor, mens det ellers i året vil være spesielt tilrettelagt for terrengsyklister i alle aldre. På selve plassen vil det være bålplass og gapahuker. Ørneplassen ligger knappe hundre meter fra Arctic Edge platået.
Svartvatnet Villmarkspark
Det vil bli tilrettelagt et unikt aktivitetsområde rundt Svartvatnet, åpent for alle og med et vell av muligheter. Som en innfallsport til friluft livets gleder og en plass til rekreasjon og avkobling – en kilde til ”det gode liv”.

ARCTIC EDGE AND NATIONAL VIEWPOINT (English text)
Arctic Edge is a new and innovative project revolving around a spectacular hotel. It is situated at the National Viewpoint in Nordland and has a 360° panoramic view of the world’s most beautiful coastline and the Nordland mountains with the Lofoten Wall straight ahead. Planned completion date 2011-2012.
Arctic Edge consists of the following elements:
1. Hotel
A spectacular, stately, iconic building with a fantastic view from every single room. Extensive course and conference capacity with assembly rooms for groups of all sizes up to 4-500 people. Restaurant and café in conjunction with the National Viewpoint. Exterior glass elevator leading up to the Sky Bar on the top floor. The hotel will be able to offer its guests everything from various types of physical activity, rehabilitation, treatment and recreation – such as indoor football and golf – to outdoor activities at Svartvatnet Wilderness Park, including trout fishing in the light of the midnight sun. And from cross-country skiing and skiing other activities to off-road cycling and mountain rambling.
2. Arctic Edge Health and Activity Centre
In conjunction with the hotel, the centre will offer hotel guests and other customers and users a wide range of offerings within the fields of health and activity.
- Day rehabilitation and training
- Top modern training studio
- Cageball: the world’s most fun form of indoor football
- Indoor golf: ten driving range mats with catch nets against a backdrop of the Lofoten Wall mountains
- Indoor mini tennis: a fun and rather simpler form of tennis played with a soft ball
3. Arctic Edge National Viewpoint
The plateau on which Arctic Edge is situated, is Nordland county’s National Viewpoint for the Midnight Sun and the Nordland coastline, also known as the World’s Most Beautiful Coastline. Together with the North Cape, the Arctic Edge plateau has long been Norway’s best used vantage point for viewing the midnight sun.
4. Arctic Edge Amphi
Outdoor amphitheatre for concerts, theatre productions, etc.
5. Arctic Edge Activity Park
Even today, Mount Rønvikfjellet is a fantastic and easily accessible area for rambling and outdoor life in general. When work on the Arctic Edge Activity Park is completed, the area will emerge as Norway’s best and most easily accessible urban fringe area for all kinds of adventures in the great outdoors.
The activity park will consist of the following elements:
Rambling trails
The main trail will lead from Bodø’s idyllic outer coastline via the Arctic Edge plateau, linking together the various activity areas on Mount Rønvikfjellet, before turning eastwards and joining the illuminated ski trail network in Bodømarka.
This will provide a wide range of different paths leading up to Keiservarden peak and on into a mountain range with incredible views and abundant fishing lakes.
Ørneplassen Activity Park
In winter this is a ski resort and winter playground for the whole family, with sledging slopes, moguls, ski jumps and groomed pistes; while during the rest of the year it will be especially adapted for off-road cycling for all age groups. At the eagle place itself (ørneplassen) there will be camp fireplaces and lean-to shelters. Ørneplassen – the eagle place – is less than 100 metres from the Arctic Edge plateau.
Svartvatnet Wilderness Park
A unique activity area will be developed around Svartvatnet lake, open to everyone and with a wealth of opportunity. This will be a gateway to the joys of the outdoor life and a place for recreation and relaxation – a place for “the good life”.
